Moral Combat
Michael Burleigh's history of World War 2 (I know who would have thought Dad reading a war book) but this is a variation as it focuses on the moral argument for all the protagonists. So far so good, it is living up to the jacket plaudits from Overy, Ferguson and Ballard. Did you know for instance that the much vilified Chamberlain was almost single handedly responsible for Britain's pre war drive to switch from bombers to fighters. This one decision almost certainly saved the Battle of Britain and thus the war.

I did not know this. And now do. Seriously though, should have focussed on nuclear research.
ReplyDeleteI am reading the 100 year old guy who jumps out a window, or whatever it is, and seriously that is not exactly much of a book, it is like forest gump but with less ass shooting.
