Watching life bleed away
I am not going to disgrace these pages with more mention of Jane Austen, but I did find there was a very quick peak Austen moment reached, I found myself engaged closely in Miss Moreland's life and then suddenly I was secretly hoping for Small Pox to quickly finish off the whole family.
This week, my main consumption has been in the form of terrible television:
- Man Seeking Woman - a fairly enjoyable, strangely accurate picture of modern dating life - built around some pretty well played surrealist moments.
- Community season 6 - haven't even watched it yet but I'm excited.
- Better Call Saul - very, very strong start.
- Moone Boy surprisingly got renewed for 3 seasons of surprisingly entertaining Irish comedy.
- The Good Wife - is back for more fairly decent legal/political drama, first few episodes promising.
Also beyond the idiot box offerings, expanded to idiot projection on a wall, Under the Skin, truly glorious little Kubrick like offering from Jonathan Glazer (who directed Sexy Beast). But this is no sexy beast, sure its very dark and intense, but Mom will definitely hate it.
Almost finished reading the Hundred Year Man jumping out window book, pretty average - but has a bit of a rambling, nonsensical g k chesterton feel to it, which I like. it is best when it makes no sense, when it starts to try to justify its existence, it loses any credibility it achieved.
Its turtles all the way down.
T-5 days before the end.
